Double Chocolate Tahini Crispy Treats
Super fun and easy snack that has the potential for superfood additions. Made with chocolate krispies, along with dark chocolate chips, so, for chocoholics (like myself!), it will hot the spot!
I hope you will try it and enjoy.
What You’ll Need
2 rounded Tbsp coconut oil
2 rounded Tbsp dark chocolate chips (can use vegan chips)
2 rounded Tbsp Tahini
2 Tbsp cacao nibs
3 1/4 cups of chocolate rice krispies (can be found gluten free)
Possible superfoods
1 tsp tumeric
Dash of cloves
Dash of cinnamon
Preparation
* Fill the bottom of a small pot with about 2 inches of water. Place on the stove.
* Add parchment paper to an 8 x 8 inch pan. Set aside.
* Place a heat proof bowl over the top of that pot. One that will sit easily on top of the pot and sit about 3-4 inches above the water.
* Pour krispy cereal into a medium bowl, big enough to be able to stir it around easily. Add the cacao nibs. Set aside.
* Have all other ingredients out and ready.
* Place the coconut oil into the bowl on on top the pot on the stove and turn stove onto high.
* Once coconut oil starts to heat up and melt (about 3-4 minutes), add the chocolate chips. Allow those to melt, stirring continuously..
* Add tahini. Once the tahini is added, it takes only about 1 minute or so to heat that up. Don’t overheat, as the tahini will start to turn and the consistency will not be smooth.
* Remove from heat, stir for just a few more second. Here is where you would add any superfoods into the liquid mixture.
* Pour the krispy mixture into the pan and over the parchment paper and spread evenly. Be sure and press the mixture down with a large spoon several times. This will help the mixture form and if not done well will cause it to fall apart when removed from pan.
* Place mixture into the fridge for at least an hour.
* Remove, cut into whatever sized squares you want, and enjoy!
