Spiked Holiday Cider


Spike Holiday Cider Recipe

Serves 6-8


INGREDIENTS

  • * ½ teaspoon cloves

  • * 2 star anise

  • * 2 cinnamon sticks

  • * half of a blood orange, sliced

  • * half of a blood orange, juiced

  • * 6 cups apple cider

  • * 1 cup of bourbon

  • * garnish rim with turbinado sugar

  • * garnish drink with dried orange slice and star anise


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Toast the spices in a pot over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, and until fragrant.

  2. Reduce heat to low. Add in the apple cider, orange juice and orange slices and bring to a simmer, just barely bubbling. Set a timer for 30 minutes and reduce to low heat.

  3. Remove any particulate with a sieve or strainer.

  4. Garnish rims of cups with turbinado sugar (optional)

  5. Pour in the bourbon. Ladle into mugs.

  6. Garnish with star anise and dried orange slice (optional)

  7. Enjoy!
